Médiamétrie Paris Radio Audience : RTL !

News talk radio channel RTL solidifies its lead in the Ile de France (Paris) Médiamétrie survey for September-December 2004. RMC Info doubles audience share.

RTL is taking this opportunity to brag. And they should. In each of the last three years the station has continued to attract more audience, increasing its market share of listeners 13 years and older to 14.9%, an increase of 2.8% since 2002, 1.6% since 2003.

Europe 1’s Paris audience market share dropped to 9.8% from 9.9%, now in 2nd place.

RTL Broadens Lead Médiamétrie Audience Survey, Radio France Channels Continue to Slide
The leading French national networks continued to lead while mid-pack stations swapped ranking in the recently released Médiamétrie survey of November/December 2004 French radio listening.

French Radio Audience: Commercial channels up a point, Radio France channels down a point
September/October Médiamétrie radio survey shows RTL leading in market share, NRJ in cume audience, again.

Public news, talk and information channels France Inter and France Info continued their slide. France Inter dropped to #3 in market share, a year on drop to 9.5% from 10.0%. Headline news France Info slid to 4.8% from 5.6%.

RMC Info joined the top ten (#9) with a market share of 3.2%, double the 1.6% in 2003.

Hip hop music stations traded audience. Skyrock dropped, remaining #4, dropped to 5.3% market share from 6.0%. Local station Ado FM dropped to 2.7% from 2.8%. The momentum appears to be with Fun Radio – particularly with Cauet in the morning. The station jumped to 2.6% from 1.9%

Perennial pop channel NRJ (#6) gained slightly to 4.7% from 4.5%

Both Nostalgie and Cherie FM dropped; Nostalgie to 4.0% from 4.5% and Cherie FM to 3.5% from 4.3%.

Overall radio listening increased year-on-year to 87.2% of the population from 84.7%. Time spent listening also increased to 175 minutes from 173 minutes. The total market share for the public channels of Radio France fell to 20.0% from 21.5%. Private, commercial channels hold a 76.2% market share, up from 74.2%.

The Médiamétrie 75,000+ Ile de France (IDF) regional radio audience survey was conducted between August 30th and December 26th 2004 and includes persons age 13 and older.
