Radio Audience Slides in Sweden

RUAB released March-June 2004 audience figures August 8th. Total radio listening continues a slow downward slide. Time spent listening to radio by persons 9 to 79 years fell to 154 minutes per week from 162 minutes in the same period in 2003. Market shares for Sveriges Radios (SR), the public service broadcaster, fell to 62.2% from 63.9% while private, local radio shares increased to 31.7% from 29.8%. SR P4 local station network fell to 34.1% from 35.1%. The leading private station group is RIX FM, with 24 stations, at 13.2%.
